I just love this piece, the amethyst is quite outstanding, the purple is deep and the shine is so bright it looks like purple ice (see stone meanings below)
The dragon's head has long tendrils with pearls as does the fin-like tail, it's body wraps around the wand, it is very detailed. The wand itself is hard and silky smooth of unknown origins. (possibly rowan). I found it hiking, it had washed up on a river bank, the color was just what i was looking for and it appeared to be ancient but not decomposed as it was incredibly hard for driftwood.

AMETHYST - the magical properties of amethyst are legend, I prefer the ancient meanings of this stone over the more modern - known as the dream stone, aides in dream recal and frequency, guards against drunkenness, protection from deception and against psychic attack, opens spiritual and psychic centres -- interesting note - it was called the bishop's stone and is still used as such
CITRINE - brings luck to merchants, increases psychic abilities, clarity, creativity, increases self esteem, a great aid to healers as it has the ability to banish negativity and to cleanse the space and other stones --interesting note - most citrine is actually amethyst baked in a kiln true citrine resembles imperial topaz and smoky topaz, there is a man-made that is a light yellow but it is hard to spot the fakes - there was even a time when amethyst was exposed to radiation which changed its color to near perfection see pic
SMOKY QUARTZ - grounding, transmutes negative energy, also called the witch's mirror as it was one of the best known stones to aid in the psychic gifts particularly audio, and transmutation, and above all it is a protection stone. interesting note - many books list this stone as one that protects against witches spells
PEARL - represents female energy, especially connected to the water Goddesses, a.k.a. teardrops of the moon, symbolizes hinesty, purity, wisdom, ethics, dignity, gold and black pearls are for prosperity and riches. interesting note - one of the oldest gemstones on record and not so common before cultured pearls
DIOPTASE - releases emotional patterns, heals emotional wounds & trauma, love, compassion, mental cleanser, positive attitude, overcoming addiction,stress release, sleep, prosperity, improved health. interesting note - often was sold as emerald
GREEN SAPPHIRE - or psdpsrsddcha (lotus flower) - protective, prevents jealousy, clarity in psychic messages, wealth (&sustaining wealth) promotes fair play & loyalty, restores energy sfter stress & exertion, meditation, power. interesting note - second hardest stone after diamond
